Manchurian Local Overprints 1945 - 1947

Japanese Kerr 261.

Other Names
Unknown Yen Hsing Yanjian YŠn jiān

延 尖

This town may be fictitious. Yen-hsing

Yen chien
  Not found on map.
Set of three soft black Mukden Type overprints FT65 see Mukden Types.

Note; Chan uses that characters 延興 Yan Xing for this town which is not shown on my maps. I can find a  延興 Yan Xing Chen which is North of the position identified by Chan but I am not confident that it is linked to these stamps. Yen Hsing is not listed as having a Post Office in Fisher's Gazetteer and I therefore consider it doubtful.

These are the only stamps known for this town.

These stamps have been identified by using Volume II of the Stamp Catalogue of China by Shui-Hon Chan and the four booklet guide The Local Overprinted Stamps of Manchuria 1945-7 by Allen D Kerr (published 1978 and now out of print). Both works are essential for anyone delving seriously into this subject.
