Japanese Kerr 145.

(also Kerr 143 see below).

  (Mutankiang) Muling (Map)
  Map of 1945 Mu lin

Note - Kerr lists Mo Lin and Mu Ling as 2 separate towns, Chan lists this as two names for the same town "Mo Lin". Fisher in the Philatelic Gazetteer of Manchukuo also lists Mu Lin as an error for Mu Ling. Kerr 143 is therefore redundant.

This is a set of three stamps with an oily black surcharge, widely spaced, reading 中華民國 Chinese Republic with the surcharge value below.

This is the set that Kerr lists under Mo Lin (Kerr 143). This black handstamp was created using two woodblocks the first reading 中華民國 Chinese Republic and below this Mu Ling.

All of the stamps known in connection to this town or village are shown above.

These stamps have been identified by using Volume II of the Stamp Catalogue of China by Shui-Hon Chan and the four booklet guide The Local Overprinted Stamps of Manchuria 1945-7 by Allen D Kerr (published 1978 and now out of print). Both works are essential for anyone delving seriously into this subject.
