This is a hard mauve chop. Above is a complete set of 15 overprints reading 郵政 Chinese Post.

These overprints were produced by means of a combined chop that overprinted four stamps at a time. Looking carefully you will see four slightly different versions as each individual overprint on the combined chop was slightly different.

This is a hard violet four character overprint reading 郵政 Chinese Post. The complete set of 8 stamps is shown above.

Fakes have been seen of this issue, example above..

This is a set of two values surcharges with a watery violet ink with 郵政 Chinese Post, below this left is the surcharge and on the right Temporary Value.

Cover (Right)

This cover sent from Ko Shan to Kirin represents half of a set of 2 surcharges known for Ko Shan. Kerr notes that other values may exist. The other part of this set is a 5Y on 20f.

This example is dated 19th May 1946

Examples of all overprints known for this town are shown above.
These stamps have been identified by using Volume II of the Stamp Catalogue of China by Shui-Hon Chan and the four booklet guide The Local Overprinted Stamps of Manchuria 1945-7 by Allen D Kerr (published 1978 and now out of print). Both works are essential for anyone delving seriously into this subject.
