This is a surcharge of 50f on the 10f rose red Chang-Chun issue. The top four overprinted characters read 中華民國 Chinese Republic, below is the surcharge followed by 作妀 Revalued. These are the only 2 stamps in this set. The Chang Chun overprint has eight characters and 10f stamps of this local issue frequently carried further surcharges made by post offices in other towns. The top four characters read 中國郵政 Chinese Post, left 暫用Temporary Use, right 北東 North East. |
