A set of three stamps with soft black overprints reading 中華民國 Chinese Republic. All of stamps known for this village are shown above. |
||||||||
These stamps have been identified by
using Volume II of the Stamp Catalogue of
China by Shui-Hon Chan and the four booklet guide
The Local Overprinted Stamps of Manchuria 1945-7 by
Allen D Kerr
(published 1978 and now out of print). Both works are essential for
anyone delving seriously into this subject.
Japanese town names have been translated and kindly supplied by Mr Richard Arent. The Chinese characters used for the town names have been checked against those shown in Philatelic Gazetteer of Manchoukuo and Kwantung Leased Territory South Manchuria Railway Zone by George A Fisher. In some instances Kerr's characters have been substituted when judged to be inaccurate. |
