Manchurian Local Overprints 1945 - 1947
|Map of 1945|
These are the only two stamps associated with this city which is odd as it was a centre for coal mining and famous for a coal seam 40m deep on average and up to 130m thick in places!.
The strong black overprint reads 北東中華郵政 North East China Post.
These are the only stamps known for this town.
|These stamps have been identified by using Volume II of the Stamp Catalogue of China by Shui-Hon Chan and the four booklet guide The Local Overprinted Stamps of Manchuria 1945-7 by Allen D Kerr (published 1978 and now out of print). Both works are essential for anyone delving seriously into this subject.|
