Manchurian Local Overprints 1945 - 1947
|Map of 1945
This is a set of three stamps with an oily black overprint, widely spaced, reading 中華民國 Chinese Republic.
The design of this overprint appears to deliberately obliterate the value of the stamp making postal use problematic.
This is a set of four
stamps with a soft red overprint reading
Chinese Republic. There appear to be two settings for this
overprint, narrow and wide.
Note; The Chang Chun second issue overprint on 10f stamps could also be used at this town. They have been seen on covers used with and without the stamps shown above.
All of the stamps known for this village are listed above.
|These stamps have been identified by using Volume II of the Stamp Catalogue of China by Shui-Hon Chan and the four booklet guide The Local Overprinted Stamps of Manchuria 1945-7 by Allen D Kerr (published 1978 and now out of print). Both works are essential for anyone delving seriously into this subject.
